Delete your account

You can delete your Playback18 account (operated by Takashi Miyamoto) and the associated data in either of the following ways.

1. From the app (recommended)

1. Open the Playback18 app and go to the Settings tab
2. Tap "Delete account" at the bottom
3. Review what will be deleted and tick the three confirmation checkboxes
4. Tap "Schedule deletion" and verify your identity with Google sign-in

2. If you have already uninstalled the app (web request)

You can request account deletion without reinstalling the app.

1. Contact us via the contact form saying you want your account deleted
2. To verify your identity, we will send a confirmation email to the address registered on your account. Your reply completes the request

3. Process and timeline

1. Deletion is scheduled (for web requests, after identity verification). You will receive a confirmation email
2. A 7-day grace period protects your data from accidental or impersonated requests. Signing in to the app during this period cancels the deletion
3. After the grace period, deletion runs automatically and we email you when it completes. Any remaining data is fully erased within 14 days of execution

4. What will be deleted

• All recap videos in the cloud (generated videos, timelines, etc.)
• Shared links (recipients lose access too)
• Uploaded recordings
• Account data (sign-in identifier, email address)
• Unused purchased generations (forfeited)

5. What stays / notes

• Videos already saved on your device (gallery, in-app downloads) are not deleted — you can remove them on your device
• Purchase history on Google Play is held by Google and cannot be deleted by us
• Deleting your account does NOT cancel your subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play subscriptions
• As required by law, we retain billing transaction records (7 years after deletion), a deletion audit record (3 years), and an irreversibly transformed identifier for fraud prevention. See the privacy policy for details
